Harold Schmidt is not the first in his family to create recreational gaming opportunities that encourage fellowship and camaraderie. He acquired Jones Brothers Pool Tables from Calvin Jones in 1959. These two friends were determined to maintain this unique entertainment culture with their intertwined family history.
Ernst Schmidt, Harold’s great-grandfather, established A.E. Schmidt Company in 1850 and built a billiard manufacturing business inspired by old world craftsmanship. A.E. Schmidt pool tables are still produced in St. Louis by the family and continue a legacy of quality and durability. Since 1924, Jones Brothers Pool Tables has offered A.E. Schmidt pool tables along with other renowned brands in the industry.
Harold’s son, Bob, joined the family business in 1972 and today the North Little Rock showroom boasts the largest retail facility in
Arkansas – featuring shuffleboard tables, table tennis, foosball, air hockey, darts, bars, and card tables and providing customers the most complete game room experience.
Strategic business partnerships further the company’s depth in the industry. Jones Brothers Pool Tables created an A.E. Schmidt custom pool table for the national Dave & Busters franchise – securing an exclusive distributorship in all the Dave & Busters venues.
The rich history of Jones Brothers Pool Tables continues with the fifth and sixth generation of the Schmidt family in leadership roles – pursuing contemporary offerings while honoring the company’s commitment to excellence and family fun.
