Arkansas Festival Ballet Presents A SPOOK-tacular Streaming Event

A SPOOK-tacular Streaming Event – Dracula Unearthed (circa 2015)

This AFB FAVORITE from the archives is perfect for the spookiest holiday season. Enjoy + Contribute today – because, now more than ever… community + the arts matter.

Arkansas Festival Ballet – in partnership with Praeclara and Wildwood Park for the Arts – presented a new twist on a Halloween classic Dracula Unearthed. This production combines dance, song and dramatic narrative in exploring the multi-faceted legend of the famous vampire, extending his tale beyond the ending of Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel. Adults and teens are in for a scintillating treat!

Dracula Unearthed showcases original choreography by Arkansas Festival Ballet Artistic Director Rebecca Miller Stalcup. Bruce Rentz is the producer and Bevan Keating directs the production and conducts the musicians and singers in music by Bach, Mozart, Bartok, Shostakovich, Rachmaninoff and more.

Expect the unexpected – The chilling opening notes of Bach’s Fugue in D Minor foreshadow the depths of this story with alluring rich contrasts of Bartok’s Romanian Folk Dances and Mozart’s powerful Requiem in D Minor. An original set design features hidden secrets and surprising ascents while the voices of talents levitate throughout, giving the movement of dancers an ethereal projection: WATCH HERE
