Cell phone rings again....another unfamiliar number...and voice on the other end...it was that of an upbeat, positive, empathetic, intelligent woman...she had taken the liberty of calling me....a friend of Dan Smith's is a friend of hers? Dan Smith is an old family friend, a dermatologist here in town...The woman was dr. Jerri Fant...a well-known, amazing, brilliant breast surgeon in little rock....She wanted to help me...even said she would meet and discuss my case over a cup of coffee at starbucks on her Saturday afternoon....wow! I have the best team of medical professionals in the entire world....She scheduled me for an office visit for Tuesday.

November 21, 2006 - Meet with Dr. Jerri Fant

Love this woman! Ends up we went to high school together! We have a lot of mutual acquaintances...She is wonderful! I love her enthusiasm! Her sincerity! Her empathy! Her youth! Schedules me for lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy where she will remove the remaining positive margins (cancer) and lymph nodes to test for cancer. She is in search of negative margins....tumor markers...
