Presented by the Arkansas Cinema Society, Filmland boasts some of the most intriguing screening + discussion opportunities in the Capital City.

The itinerary of programming includes more exciting details by the day. Here are just a few highlights + reasons to attend.

Friday, August 24thAntiquities – 11a.m.

An encore screening of Antiquities has been added to accommodate the overwhelming response to the Friday evening initial screening.

 

Saturday, August 25thComedy Panel – 11a.m.

The Last Man on Earth cast members and creators will host a panel discussion about developing, writing and filming comedy.

 

Saturday, August 25thThe Last Man on Earth – 1p.m.

The Saturday afternoon screening of The Last Man on Earth episodes includes appearances by Will Forte, Mel Rodriguez, Kristen Schaal, Mary Steenburgen, co-creator John Solomon and writer Rich Blomquist for a lively Q&A discussion.

 

Saturday, August 26th – Arkansas Short Films – 2p.m.

The program of Arkansas Short Films includes Gwen by Madeline Snapp, Splitting Maul by Trenton Mynatt, Green by Matthew Magdefrau, Expecting by Jen Gerber, Arkansas Wild Man by Nathan Willis, Does James Brown Have a Penis? by Jason Morphew and Americana by Jacob Allinson.

 

Saturday, August 25thMacGruber – 4p.m.

Following the screening of MacGruber, director Jorma Taccone will join Will Forte and John Solomon for a Q&A discussion hosted by Mary Steenburgen and Ted Danson.

 

Sunday, August 26thOperation Finale – Sneak Preview – 7:30p.m.

Sunday’s finale feature will be a sneak preview of Operation Finale. Starring Sir Ben Kingsley and Oscar Isaac, the film recounts the story of a daring covert operation that captured Adolph Eichmann – one of the chief architects of the Holocast. Following the screening, producers Fred Berger and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones will participate in a Q&A discussion hosted by Jeff Nichols.
