CASA’s Night of Hope Gala Brings Hope to Foster Children

Court Appointed Special Advocates is a national association that supports and promotes volunteer advocates for abused and neglected children in order to provide children with a safe and healthy environment in permanent homes. The mission is to serve each and every child in our foster care system by providing a voice to these children that have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. It costs approximately $1000 per year to sponsor one foster child, which includes advocate training and supervision.

Sarah Marchese Hogan serves as President of the Friends of CASA Board of Directors and spearheads many of the fundraising campaigns that benefit the nonprofit, in addition to her paralegal career at Quattlebaum, Grooms & Tull PLLC.  She became interested in volunteering for Pulaski and Perry County CASA once her son went to college.

“As a mother, I have a passion for children and their well-being. I believe that every child deserves the same chance and every child deserves a voice.  Children that have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect through no fault of their own are our most vulnerable children. I believe that we need to invest in these children,” says Marchese Hogan.

The Night of Hope Gala is the largest fundraiser of the year for Pulaski & Perry County CASA.  The gala will take place at Wildwood Park for the Arts on May 9, 2019 at 6:00 p.m, and will be emceed by Christina Muñoz Madsen. Through a silent auction, ticket sales, and a Fund-A-Need presentation, the nonprofit will raise a large portion of the funds it needs for the year to advocate for these children. While CASA is partially funded by the county and grants, funds that are raised through fundraisers like Night of Hope are essential in funding the nonprofit and serving as many children as possible.

Sydney Rasch, board member and event chair, elaborates, “Night of Hope is going to be inspiring and fun. We have a compelling program of speakers this year who will touch the hearts of those in attendance.”

Advocate, Aisosa Osaretin, on her experience working with CASA explains, “Looking out for the best interest of a child is a responsibility that cannot and should not be taken lightly.  I am learning every day and striving to be the light at the end of the tunnel for these angels.” President Sarah Marchese Hogan concludes, “These children are our future, and if we do not invest in them, then who will?”

This year’s Night of Hope Gala has been made possible through a compassionate group of sponsors including Quattlebaum, Grooms & Tull PLLC, Mollie Birch with The Charlotte John Co., Ashley Kaplan, LLC, Pray Law Firm, LaTonya Laird Austin for Little Rock District Court Judge, Celebrations Events & Entertainment, YGFBF Kitchen Catering Co., Meredith Events, Art | Photography by Sydney Rasch, Oakenelk Media, Davisdrew, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Golden Eagle of Arkansas, Pivot Legal Services,  Tipton & Hurst,  Colonial Wine & Spirits, and Confetti’s Party Rentals.
