Calling all cupcake enthusiasts! Cupcakes for Goodness Sake is back and bigger than ever. Hosted by Carelink at Bespoke Video Production on Sunday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. Cupcakes for Goodness Sake showcases amateur and professional bakers alike in a friendly competition. This year’s baking challenge: to create a delicious and unique cupcake inspired by everyone’s favorite Sunday tradition: brunch! Cupcakes for Goodness Sake raises funds + friends for CareLink and brings awareness to the critical needs of older people in the Central Arkansas community.
In anticipation of this fun-filled event, we’re sharing each baker’s unique expertise + talent.
Paula Dempsey is the owner of Dempsey Bakery, located in the heart of Downtown Little Rock. She can’t wait to bring her expertise in Gluten-free specialty baking to the competition!
Inviting Arkansas: What is your signature baking style?
Paula Dempsey: Our signature baking style is gluten, soy and nut free – specializing in food sensitivities.
IA: What is your favorite cupcake flavor?
PD: I love the snickerdoodle one we do in the fall.
IA: Have you ever had a kitchen fiasco?
PD: Of course!! We have had an order not bake correctly and had to re-bake at the last minute.
IA: What keeps you living + giving in Central Arkansas?
PD: I have always lived in Central Arkansas and love giving back to the community. We give back to the community through the way we bake and provide for all those people that struggle with food issues.
IA: Why did you choose to be a participant in Cupcakes for Goodness Sake?
PD: I have a special place in my heart for Carelink, and also I love providing food that everyone can eat at events. The cupcake event fits us perfectly.
IA: What’s the anticipated highlight of the event for you?
PD: I love to see people react to our wonderful, delicious food. They are always so surprised at how good it tastes.
