Fun for Adults at Boo at the Zoo!

Q&A with Little Rock Zoo Director Susan Altrui

Zombie costume contests, haunted houses, enchanted bone yards, oh my! As Arkansas’s largest Halloween festival, there’s no doubt Boo at the Zoo is a must-do fall event for families. But the fun isn’t just for kids. Little Rock Zoo Director Susan Altrui is sharing more about how adults now have not one, but two chances to partake in the SPOOK-tacular celebrations at the Zoo:

Inviting Arkansas: What can we expect from Boo at the Zoo Adult Night on October 19?

Susan Altrui: Adult Night offers all of the Boo at the Zoo fun, but for adults only. We’ll have zombie costume contests, bites available from some of the area’s favorite food trucks and ‘trick or treating’ for tasty beverages.

IA: You had us at trick-or-treating for tasty beverages. What does that entail?

SA: You have to be 21 years old to attend so you know it’s going to be a party! We’ll have libations from local breweries and distilleries, as well as plenty of wine. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the Halloween season. And it’s really a bargain at $30 a ticket in advance!

IA: You’re also launching a brand new event this year with a special celebrity guest. Tell us more.

SA: To coincide with this year’s zombie theme, we’re hosting A Night with The Walking Dead’s Michael Cudlitz on Sunday, October 21. As many fans know, Michael played Sergeant Abraham Ford on the hit AMC show. The $50 ticket includes a meet-and-greet—complete with an autographed photo and selfie—and access to the Zoo Zombie Party. We hope attendees will come decked out in zombie costumes for a night of adult beverages, food trucks, live music and celebrations!
