The Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance has partnered with nonprofits across the state to promote #GivingTuesdayAR on Tuesday, Dec. 1, a day that focuses on holiday giving after holiday spending.
While Black Friday promotes holiday shopping and Cyber Monday encourages online sales, GivingTuesday highlights opportunities for charitable giving during the holiday season.
“We are encouraging Arkansas to celebrate the holidays by giving to others,” says Stephanie Meincke, president and CEO of Arkansas Nonprofit Alliance.”We encourage all Arkansans to donate to a nonprofit of their choice this GivingTuesday. This movement was created to celebrate the generosity of the holiday spirit and give back to organizations that provide important services to our communities throughout the year. Giving to a local nonprofit that is making a difference in your own community is a meaningful way to kick off the holiday season.”
Arkansans are encouraged to make donations to organizations of their choice on this day of giving and to join the conversation by using the hashtag #GivingTuesdayAR on Facebook and Twitter.
