Home for the ‘Howlidays’ – Help CARE and four-legged friends this holiday season

Guest blog by Ashley Younger with CARE for Animals

Season’s greetings from CARE for Animals! As the holidays approach, I am thankful for the opportunity to join CARE as its executive director. Founded in 1998, CARE’s mission is to rescue and rehome cats and dogs facing impending euthanasia in local shelters and provide low-cost spay/neuter options for Central Arkansas residents.

As you reflect on your many blessings, I hope you’ll remember our four-legged friends. Through no fault of their own, many cats and dogs will find themselves homeless during the holiday season. Your generous donation and kind support will make a homeless pet’s life merry and bright. Here are two ways YOU can help give these pets a loving home for the “howlidays:”

Paws with Santa Claus

Whether your pets have been naughty or nice, ’tis the season for Paws with Santa Claus — CARE’s Annual Pet Photos with Santa! A $15 donation gets you a professional 5×7 print, and Christmas card packages are available. Photographer Abby Malone is offering multiple “pawtrait” sessions:

• Saturday, Dec. 5th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Sunday, Dec. 6th from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Faren’s Happy “Tail”

This holiday season, I hope YOU will give to CARE. Your support will help save deserving animals like Faren. Poor Faren was hit by a car and left to die. A concerned citizen brought her to CARE, and we immediately took her to the vet. After a full-leg amputation and some much needed TLC, Faren is recovering beautifully. Generous donations from supporters like YOU made Faren’s story a happy “tail.”

Happy holidays and take CARE,

Ashley Younger
