More than 200 Things To Do at CALS!

The Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) offers more than a resource for knowledge and reading. Throughout January and February, CALS is providing more than 200 things to do!

From traditional events such as storytelling times for children and book clubs for adults, to the more inspired – think jazz concerts and truffle-making classes – there is something for everyone. To make things even better, all of the programs offered at CALS’ various libraries are FREE.

CALS has 14 neighborhood branch library locations that are as diverse as the programs in the new programming guide.

“We want to be the hub of the neighborhoods that surround our branches, serving as spaces for civic and social engagement and lifelong learning,” says CALS Executive Director Nate Coulter.

He highlights two branches – the newly renovated Dee Brown Library in southwest Little rock and the Hillary Rodham Clinton Children’s Library & Learning Center in midtown – for offering maker labs and teaching kitchens. “The children’s library has a recording studio, greenhouse, and walking trails just south of the Little Rock Zoo,” he adds.
