As Junior League of Little Rock embarks on nearly a century of community service, the organization continues to transform the lives of women and children – cultivating civic leaders and advocating for the health + wellness of all Arkansans. Under the leadership of Holiday House Chairman Lauren Hardy, JLLR welcomes guests to the annual shopping extravaganza that boasts more than 160 merchants from across the country and generates more than $410,000 annually to support the group’s mission fulfillment work.

The committee members, comprised of more than 50 women who work 365 days each year in preparation for the annual event, recognize the pivotal role the Holiday House plays in the organizational capacity of JLLR. “Knowing that every child in a school is going have school supplies and be better equipped to learn as a result of our work as the Holiday House Committee is rewarding and it’s fun to serve with others who have a heart for volunteering,” explains Lauren. “There is just something magical about being a part of something that is bigger than any one person.”

Junior League of Little Rock community projects include not only Stuff the Bus, but a portfolio of services like Little Rock Readers and Booster & Big Rigs as well as tenured programs like KOTA Camp in partnership with Camp Aldersgate.

The revenue from Holiday House supports these initiatives and many of others with an emphasis on school preparedness + wellness. “We continue to evolve our special events to offer even more reasons to come enjoy the festivities,” Lauren notes. Jingle & Mingle, featuring Lost Forty Brewing crafty creations, showcases three Capital City favorites, “With beer, barbeque and a band – it’s a the perfect date night or a fun evening out with girlfriends who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere.”

Lauren, along with the leadership committee of Holiday House, guarantees the reason for this shopping season is two-fold, “Unique gifts and raising funds to help with each and every wonderful Junior League of Little Rock community project… it is an Arkansas tradition that inspires us all.”
