Ballet Arkansas is renowned for its beloved performances of The Nutcracker – delivering holiday cheer and artistry to thousands of Arkansans each year. Celebrating four decades as a cultural pillar in the state, Turning Pointe Gala will honor the organization’s rich history and showcase its current leadership + talent. Chairmen Stacy and Ivan Wilson recognize the important role Ballet Arkansas plays in the Capital City and look forward to sharing their love for ballet at this year’s black-tie gala.

Stacy realized her panache for event planning and fundraising through her own business experience.  “I’ve never been a dancer, but I appreciate the beautiful performances and enlightenment that Ballet Arkansas brings to our state,” Stacy explains. “I  believe a strong arts community helps bring business to our state and if we don’t do everything we can to support it, we will lose it.”

Under the direction of Catherine and Michael Fothergill, the organization continues its legacy of creative collaborations that enrich the lives of all Arkansans. Catherine explains, “Through our partnership with the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, our dancers have provided hope and brought joy into the lives of young children facing difficult times. Very few are immune to the beauty and artistry of dance. We are looking for ways to better our organization, but also ways which our organization can better the lives of those in our community.” All constituents support this vision as Stacy notes, “Ballet Arkansas is driven by the belief that together we can accomplish much more to further our communities and enhance our quality of life.”

The Turning Pointe Gala will commemorate Ballet Arkansas’ 40th anniversary featuring exclusive performances by the company’s dancers as well as a VIP Patron’s Party at Dassault Falcon Jet’s newest hangar. Stacy says, “We want to thank our sponsors and donors for their support of Ballet Arkansas through the years. The hangar is a unique setting for our organization to ‘take flight’ and share our bold plans for the ballet’s future.”
