AEDD: Giving the Gift of Hope for the Holidays

AEDD is giving a Christmas gift you can’t put a price tag on!

AEDD has been empowering individuals with disabilities and improving the quality of their lives for numerous years. One of the most impactful fundraisers they put on is Hope for the Holidays, which continues to make a difference in the lives of children and adults across Arkansas long after the hustle and bustle of the holiday season ends.

New equipment for the therapy room at Sammie Gail Sanders Children’s Learning Center is at the top of AEDD’s Christmas list this year. AEDD serves children ages 6 weeks to 5 years at the Sammie Gail Sanders Children’s Learning Center preschool. The school supports children of all abilities through occupational therapy, which helps children strengthen their fine motor skills so that they’re able to do things like write, grip objects, tie their shoes and use utensils. By making the routines and tasks seem like play, occupational therapy helps children better process the information they get through their senses. The holiday season is about giving, and the best way to give back to your community is through an organization that truly makes a difference in the lives of those it touches.

AEDD also serves adults 18 and older at their Lacy Landers Adult Skills Training Center in Little Rock. They provide prevocational and vocational training for adults with developmental disabilities and offer opportunities for them to develop basic work skills while earning wages. Because of their Lacy Landers Training Center, AEDD had developed a reputation for providing services that are designed to maximize individuals’ social, vocational, emotional, and educational functioning.

By providing AEDD with a donation or equipment for their occupational therapy room you will be giving the gift of hope to the children and adults in Arkansas who rely on AEDD’s services!
