Catholic High Alumni: Jim Dailey

Jim Dailey | Class of 1960 | Director of Arkansas Tourism, Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage & Tourism

Memorable Experience… I remember Father Tribou playing the song, “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” from The Sound of Music. His message for me was that I was too young to go steady with one girl. “Wait a year or two,” he said.

Yesterday vs. Today… Catholic High is more diverse – especially students from other religions beyond Catholic. What hasn’t changed is the school’s strong foundation of faith, education and character development. And the facilities are wonderful! I was in the 1960 class – the last class to graduate from the “old” school.

CHS Brotherhood… I am from a long history of Catholic High grads – my dad, uncle, sons, son-in-law – all of us with a special bond based on a common faith and a common experience at an all-boys school.

CHS Remains Relevant… In today’s divided world, Catholic High stands out as a refreshing model of how education built on a base of character and biblical principles can positively impact outcomes in families, business, community and politics.
