It’s still the beginning of the year, and you are really trying to stick with your resolutions to eat better.
However, since it’s cold outside, you probably don’t want to include cold smoothies as part of your workout regimen. Fortunately, I have some recipes that I use for the colder season to keep my body warm. Give your smoothie a winter makeover with a little warmth!
Ingredients
12 oz (1 1/2 cup) whole milk (can substitute unsweetened almond or coconut milk)
1 rounded scoop unsweetened vanilla or plain whey protein powder
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 tablespoon raw honey or other sweetener of your choice
Directions
Heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until bubbles start to form. While the milk heats, mix the protein powder, cocoa, vanilla and honey in a blender and/or Vitamix a few times. Gently pour in the hot milk and puree again until very smooth and thick. Taste and adjust as desired and serve immediately.
Enjoy!
