American Dreams: Sissy’s Log Cabin

For more than five decades, Sissy’s Log Cabin has been passionate about building better communities.

It was an old log cabin in Pine Bluff when Sissy Jones, an antique and estate jewelry aficionado, spotted it. With the support of Murphy, her husband, family and community, Sissy transformed the cabin into what would become an iconic, family-owned store for antiques, estate jewelry and appraisals. Today, Sissy’s Log Cabin has grown from the small log cabin in Pine Bluff to locations in Little Rock, Jonesboro, Memphis and Conway. Celebrating more than 50 years of exceptional quality and extraordinary service, Sissy’s Log Cabin has become the largest independent jeweler in Arkansas.

The Sissy’s Log Cabin philosophy – building customer relationships that last a lifetime – has established the company’s reputation throughout the Mid-South. Family has always been a cornerstone of Sissy’s Log Cabin; the company’s vision of the “Sissy’s Experience” remains a critical component of continued success. Bill Jones, CEO, elaborates, “In addition to the Jones family legacy, we are proud to be known for the ‘Sissy’s Experience’ of second-to-none customer service and high-quality jewelry. A plaque stating, ‘The customer is always right’ hangs in each of our stores to remind our team why we do what we do – everything is for our customers.” He continues. “Our aim is to not only sell amazing pieces for our customers to love, but to assist them with any jewelry needs.”

For more than five decades, Sissy’s Log Cabin has been passionate about building better communities. A philanthropy budget is allocated to each store for support of local charities and nonprofit organizations. The family realizes that not all communities are the same and strives to make a difference in each one. Bill notes an important consideration as a business leader, “always leave a place better than you found it,” and that guides much of the company’s civic leadership.

Sissy never expected her jewelry store to expand into five locations. She attributes the continued success to simply following The Golden Rule. The Jones family plans to continue the Sissy’s Log Cabin legacy, both in business and philanthropy, and to never lose sight of what’s most important – family. “Our goal at Sissy’s Log Cabin is to make each person who walks through our doors feel like family, that includes our employees and our customers. Since our founding, we’ve held tight to this value, and we will continue to uphold it for decades to come. The Sissy’s family just keeps getting bigger.”
