Set to Tchaikovsky’s paramount score, Sleeping Beauty is seldom performed in Arkansas and is the grandest of the classical ballets. The production has graced stages the world over, having received accolades for its breathtaking choreography, ornate sets and costumes, and storytelling. This production of Sleeping Beauty features the professional dancers of Ballet Arkansas and nearly 100 community performers from across the state.
“Sleeping Beauty is one of the most beloved productions of the classical era, and is perhaps the world’s most treasured tale. The ballet is a spectacle of classical technique, featuring brilliantly crafted choreography and pantomime. Infused with folklore and humor, the production really is perfect for balletomanes and young audiences alike,” says Executive & Artistic DirectorMichael Fothergill.
