CALS – Arkansas Holiday Gifts in the Heart of Downtown

As the holidays approach, gifts are on everyone’s minds. One of Little Rock’s best kept secrets is the bookstore at the Central Arkansas Library System – the Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square. This unique shop is on the first floor of the picturesque Roberts Library and sells local artisan items ranging from woodworking to non-perishable foods. With over 80 Arkansas artists, authors, and food makers, it’s the one-stop location for all things Arkansas made. Shop for local jewelry, glass art, even paintings and ceramics.

You’re sure to find something for even the most discerning person on your list. Earrings for your eclectic aunt. Literary socks for your niece. A clever coffee mug for your friend back home. A hand-poured candle for your boss. While you’re there, grab a new holiday gift for yourself, including glass ornaments by Ed Pennebaker, wooden birdhouse ornaments by Ron Ufkes, and ceramic cat stars and trees by Andrea Guidry. Be sure to look over the packaged food items, these are great to include in a gift basket, holiday snack tray or just a little treat for yourself. Some favorites are Sarge’s Famous Pickles, Honeyton Farms Honey, Ozark Nut Roasters, and Sarah’s Smoked Salsa. And if you don’t have time to browse, you can always grab a gift card.

The Galleries & Bookstore at Library Square is located at 401 President Clinton Avenue and open Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
