Each year, community leaders wear their dancing shoes for the coveted winning title that is earned at the Dancing with Our Stars Gala. All this fun and friendly competition benefits the Children’s Tumor Foundation and supports the Arkansas chapter’s research and mission: to end and find a cure for neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that disturbs cell growth in the nervous system, causing tumors to form on nerve tissue.
Children’s Tumor Foundation also provides support for children and families affected by NF. A portion of gala proceeds will support the Adult NF Clinic Pilot Program. We’re putting each star in the spotlight and introducing them on our blog. They will compete at the Thursday, September 7 gala, in addition to soliciting contributions + votes prior to the event.
Nathan “Coach” Kirby – Rock City MMA, Owner
Dancing with Allison Stodola Wilson
Nathan’s passion and positivity are what distinguish him from others. Nathan Kirby is the owner of Rock City MMA in West Little Rock. Nathan coaches youth groups, high school, D1, NCAA, and other amateur or professional athletes worldwide. What he does every day at his MMA school is what feeds his soul. He is a coach, but to most, he is a mentor, a father, a friend, a counselor, a pastor, a shoulder to lean on, and a foot to kick their backside when necessary.
Nathan Kirby is a Keynote & Motivational Speaker focused on Purpose, Passion & Potential. He has an immense passion for life, living, experiencing new things, and helping others achieve their goals and dreams.
“I am so thrilled and honored to be a part of such an amazing charity for an incredible group of kids. I love coaching and working with kids every day and to be able to do something like this to impact the lives of these young heroes is humbling and absolutely rewarding! I can promise to bring all my energy and effort and dance my butt off for the sake of these kids!”
No stranger to the spotlight Nathan is a part-time actor, as well as the winner of both Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune! However, Nathan admits he has “seam” anxiety. He remembers, “I’ve ripped the crotch out of my pants not once, but twice! First, in front of the mayor of Cabot and 1,000 people. Then, I ripped my butt out stepping through a boxing ring – in front of 2,000 fans.” Yet, for the performance itself, he’s ready. Nathan emphasizes, “I’m ready to blow the roof off this place. And give the audience, the sponsors, and the donors a night to remember.”
Married to Tiffany Kirby, they just celebrated 27 years with four dogs, two children, and a grandchild on the way.
