At the Heart of the CareLink Mission… Supporting Older Arkansans with Important Information & Critical Assistance
Throughout life, many of us are always looking for new opportunities to master more skills and relish in our accomplishments. We do not consider the day will come when we can no longer care for ourselves. And when it does, there’s sometimes a question of who can help. That’s where the services CareLink provides become a resource for many Central Arkansas families. Beverly Knox, Information and Assistance Supervisor, and her team of specialists realize the critical support the organization provides through its diverse and meaningful programs.
Some days are longer and harder than others… But when Beverly and her team are consulting with caregivers about the CareLink,resources, there is no task to large to tackle for these ladies. They agree; it’s what makes their jobs worth the effort every day. Sometimes, we get phone calls and the person on the line doesn’t know exactly why they’re calling; they just know they need help,” Beverly explains. I look at the clock and it’s been 45 minutes. I’ve barely gotten a word in of advice, but I can hear relief on the other end of the line. These calls truly make me teary-eyed.” Other calls are more specific and about services. These conclude with a more confident caller the caller who better understands the CareLink resources that make living at home safer. We’re helping people,” Beverly adds. We’re giving them and their families the knowledge they need to stay independent and happy at home.”
