Valentine’s Smoothie

Guest blog by Sarah Thomas Pilcher

Happy Valentine’s Day, Yogis!

What is Valentine’s Day without showing love to those who care about you the most? My dad has always gotten me a Valentine’s gift and a handwritten card, every year since I could remember. He always wanted me to know that I was loved.

This year, I’m celebrating my first Valentine’s with my new groom. I want to get gifts not only for him, but also for my parents, close friends and fur babies, too. Love is not just limited to couples. Love is meant for all the special people in your life.

Since all of you are amazing people to me, let me give you the gift of another healthy smoothie recipe to keep your heart pumping with all the love the world can handle. Remember, Valentine’s comes once a year, but you can show love and kindness all year long.

Ingredients
1 cup fresh strawberries
1 frozen ripe banana
1/2 cup sweetened vanilla almond milk
2 tablespoons raw cacao
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Another way to make this even more delicious: substitute the almond milk with coconut milk. That will surely get your heart pumping for more. Note: this smoothie is vegan unless regular milk is used.

Directions
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend for 1-2 minutes or until completely smooth.
Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately!
