AR MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR COMMISSION: Living Witness to History

The Arkansas Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission, a division of the Arkansas Department of Education, proudly announces its 2022 program “Living Witness to History” celebrating historical figures and events in honor of African American History Month.  The event is free and open to the public and will take place on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Mosaic Templars Cultural Ballroom, 501 West Ninth, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201, at 6:00 PM. The program is free and open to the public.  Highlights include presentations from Sarah Collins Rudolph, “The Fifth Girl,” survivor of the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, Alabama that took the lives of her sister Addie Mae Collins, and three other girls, Oscar-award winning actor, Lou Gossett, Jr., Rhythm and Blues sensation, CASE will also make a special appearance and a homebuyers education workshop. The Commission will also serve free “soul” food on a first-come, first-served basis. The food will be catered by McCoy Catering and Sunflower Gardens Community Development.
