THE MILTON PITTS CRENCHAW AVIATION TRAINING ACADEMY: Commemorative Celebration

November 9, 2019 @ 6:00 pm

The Milton Pitts Crenchaw Aviation Training Academy (MPCATA) is excited to announce its 100/10 MPCATA Centennial/Decade Honors Commemorative Celebration, which will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2019, starting at 6:00 p.m., at the Mosaic Templars, 501 W. 9th St., Little Rock, Arkansas, with Pamela Smith as Emcee.
This event will commemorate the centennial birthday of the late Milton Pitts Crenchaw of the original Tuskegee Airmen, one of the first African Americans in the country and the first from Arkansas to be federally trained as a civilian licensed pilot. It will also celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the MPCATA, a nonprofit organization created to identify and mentor students in underserved and disadvantaged communities in order to provide access to educational opportunities related to those in aviation and aerospace industries.
Today, the organization continues the legacy of Dr. Crenchaw through its mission to provide young people an opportunity to pursue aviation and aerospace careers and to provide “Wings for Dreams” through continuous funding for real hands-on flight training for the cadets, mentorships, and educational training.
