Every day across our great region, many of our neighbors wake up to another day of struggling to imagine and realize a better life for themselves and their families. But let’s imagine together: how can we each play a role in creating opportunity, prosperity, and a strong future for families in our community?
Through United Way, you can turn your imagination into action. Each year, through our annual campaign, generous individuals, civic-minded corporations, grant makers and worthy organizations join forces to support the United Way’s efforts around Education, Financial Stability and Health – the cornerstones to realizing that “better” life for our citizens.
We at United Way believe that the women in our community have a special role to play. With that in mind, we are seeking to establish a partnership with the women in our region who are searching for a place to invest their time, talents and treasures. Through the establishment of Women United, we will provide an opportunity to use our power to change our region through thoughtful investments, strategic volunteerism and powerful networking.
Many of the problems United Way seeks to address are those that no one agency or person can solve alone. To imagine a better community – no, to realize a better community – we all have valuable contributions to make. Let’s get started.
Your first chance to join us will be Thursday night, September 14, at our annual campaign kickoff. This event is your chance to discover what’s new in your United Way, and will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres from one of our favorite downtown restaurants, At the Corner, and a cash bar including beer from Lost Forty. As you explore all of what the Museum has to offer, you’ll also have the chance to interact with the work of United Way and enter to win prizes from retailers across town!
