The Golden Rule is engrained in our society. The philosophy – treat others as you would like to be treated – is often presumed as the right thing to do. For Nikki Hastings, her life is dedicated to this philanthropic force. “The golden rule is quoted in our home regularly,” Nikki jokes. But truthfully, her devotion and heartfelt commitment to living her best life while being selfless is an example to all those around her.
Nikki’s world centers around her husband and children. “Family is everything to me, and my two kiddos are the sweetest icing on the cake.” And, as a native of The Natural State, she considers Arkansas as extended family. “Stepping away from work and young professional groups after having my kids, my mission to help became clear. I wanted to help children, all children, any way I could.”
It is no surprise that Nikki invests her time, energy and love for family with Arkansas Children’s Auxiliary. “A few friends were involved in the auxiliary and before I knew it, I was on the décor committee for A La Carte,” she recalls. As this year’s chairman, Nikki’s vision to serve all children remains steadfast as she leads a committee – creating a fun and successful evening. Nikki explains, “Arkansas Children’s provides numerous contributions in all areas of health across all parts of the state making it a true gift to Arkansans.” From the renowned specialists in multiple units and clinics of the hospital, to the regional clinics, school-based clinics, mobile clinics and community outreach programs – Arkansas Children’s is a champion for children; making them better today for a healthier tomorrow.
Guests will enjoy a little piece of paradise at this Palm Beach-inspired event with carpe diem Squeeze the Day opportunities throughout the evening. With a fun play-on-words theme, Nikki hopes attendees will focus on today and the possibilities of achieving the fullest potential tomorrow. Palm leaves, the colors of paradise and even a rogue flamingo or two will welcome friends and patrons as several new restaurants are featured in the tasty offerings. Incredible auction items will be available including experience packages like a weekend at the 21c Museum Hotel in Nashville and dazzling jewelry from Jones & Son Bridal & Fine Jewelry. Nikki anticipates, “I am really looking forward to celebrating the hard work of the incredible committee members and the Arkansas Children’s Foundation as we combine efforts to have fun and raise money for all children of Arkansas.”
