February is National Grapefruit Month

During the month of February, get your fill of the ruby reds, marsh, pomelo and oroblanco because it is National Grapefruit Month!

These citrus fruits range from white to red and sweet to tart and add a brightness to the tongue that will make anyone perk up. High in vitamins C and A, grapefruit also pack in the potassium. They don’t contain cholesterol or sodium and have only 52 calories per serving.

Try one of the several varieties of grapefruit until you find one you like and use #NationalGrapefruitMonth to share on social media.

To help you out, we’ve included an exclusive recipe from Amy Bell of South on Main for you to make at home!

Dogtown Lady

  • 1 oz fresh grapefruit juice
  • Dash of Lavender Bitters (you can find them here)
  • Top with Champagne

This drink is a light and floral version of a mimosa. It’s named Dogtown Lady because Amy created the drink, and also plays on a “Greyhound” which is grapefruit & vodka.
