Central Arkansas Rescue Effort for Animals, Inc. (CARE) hosts one of its most popular events this Thursday, May 12, at Next Level Events. CARE’s 9th annual Paws on the Runway will honor the beloved memory of Lyndae Sain Allison and recognize her many contributions to the animal-welfare community.
In this week’s blog, we feature these adorable + adoptable canine models that will rock the runway at Thursday night’s event.
Rocky is one happy Lab! This 10-year-old Labrador Retriever weighs 97 pounds and was adopted from CARE years ago by a loving man, who sadly passed away. With no friends or family to take in Rocky and his companion, Jessie (pictured below), these two senior dogs are now looking for their “FURever” home where they can spend their golden years together. Rocky only has three legs, but that will not stop him from strutting down CARE’s runway. Think of Rocky as the George Clooney of the dog world; he just gets better with age!
Jessie a sweet and loyal lady! This 9-year-old German Shepherd weighs 70 pounds and loves her companion, Rocky, so much that they will be adopted together. Jessie is so devoted to Rocky that she will drop toys or treats for him. She still has quite a bit of pep in her step and is playful and fun. She absolutely loves to play ball! She and Rocky look forward to taking the world by storm on May 12th!
Ally is a nearly 6-year-old Schipperke Terrier mix weighing 22 pounds. Ally is a little shy at first, but once she gets to know you, she will show her cuddly personality. She loves belly rubs! Ally is an energetic, little dog who enjoys walks in the neighborhood, chasing balls, car rides and a good game of tug of war with her toys. She is house trained and knows the commands “sit” and “down.” Ally can’t wait to wow you at Paws on the Runway!
Pongo is a fun-loving guy! He is a 1-year-old Terrier mix that weighs 14 pounds and was rescued from Pine Bluff Animal Control where he was found as a stray but never claimed. The life of the party, he is playful and adores the companionship of other dogs. He is crate trained and is working on his house training. Won’t you adopt this wild-haired, little man?
Godiva is a 7-year-old Labrador Retriever weighing 79 pounds. She is lovely lab who was returned to CARE after her adopters could no longer care for her. She is a sweet, calm girl who is looking to rest her paws in a loving home. She is great with other dogs, and her chocolate-colored coat will be the envy of every other pooch on the runway. Satisfy your sweet tooth by adopting Godiva!
Rascal is an adorable, little Chiweenie who lives up to his name. This 6-month-old Chiweenie weighs eight pounds and is the perfect (and spunky) combination of both a Chihuahua and Dachshund. Rascal was found as a thin, shy stray dog, but he has since gained weight and confidence. He is a happy pup who loves to play with toys, run around and spend time with other little dogs. Rascal is quite the snuggle bug and enjoys sleeping in the bed at night. He can’t wait to cuddle up with you!
