At the Heart of the CareLink Mission… Supporting Older Arkansans like Jimmy
Despite all the years we have to prepare for it, aging seems to sneak up on most of us. And when it does, there’s sometimes a question of who can help. There’s where the services CareLink provides become a resource for many Central Arkansas families. Jimmy Kendrick is a CareLink recipient and realizes the critical support the organization provides through its diverse and meaningful programs.
Jimmy never expected to be a recipient of the CareLink Meals on Wheels Program at the spry age of 78 years old – but CareLink, Central Arkansas’s Area Agency on Aging has been his steady companion for more than ten years. In 2010, Jimmy became a family caregiver and CareLink was there to help. Two years later, he discovered he needed a little extra help with meals. Through the years, CareLink has continued to expand services – providing more support to those in need. They have more services to offer than others I have seen,” Jimmy explains. It’s been a positive thing, I’ve enjoyed … them. They’ve been very helpful.” Jimmy also receives daily calls through the Telephone Reassurance Program and coordinates complimentary transportation through CareLink’s newest service.
