Party at the Plaza will be fun for the whole family! Bring your kids and grandkids to North Little Rock’s Argenta Arts District on Saturday, April 23, for this this action-packed community celebration to benefit Arkansas Hospice.
Admission is free, and family-friendly activities will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. near the intersection of Main and 5th streets. Attractions will include appearances by many well-known characters in costumes, story time and a Memory Sidewalk where tributes to loved ones can be expressed in chalk. You’ll find Arkansas’ Iron Man, princesses, storm troopers, balloon twisters, magicians, the Museum of Discovery and the Red Cross.
Whether you’re a youngster or just young at heart, don’t miss The Paw-ty at the Plaza Dogtown Dog Costume Contest, held at 4 p.m. on the Plaza Mainstage.
Plus, families with older children might enjoy the Virtual Scavenger Challenge. Download a special app; challengers can use phones to go on the “hunt” between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the Argenta area to complete challenges with photos, videos, GPS check-ins and Q&A. Live leaderboards will keep the competition going while contestants rack up points to win trophies and prizes.
Don’t miss the other Party on the Plaza attractions! It will be filled with music, food, art and family fun. The Argenta Plaza Mainstage will be the center of activity with concerts by American Idol winner and Arkansas native Kris Allen and Jason D. Williams. Other performers include The Rodney Block Collective, The Salty Dogs, The B-Flats and The Rocktown Sparks. Additional attractions include Artists on the Avenue, the Paw-ty at the Plaza Dogtown Dog Costume Contest, the Virtual Scavenger Challenge kid-friendly activities as well as food and drink specials at participating restaurants, and more.
