Celebrating more than 50 years of exceptional quality and extraordinary service, Sissy’s Log Cabin continues a legacy that includes community service as a cornerstone of this family business. With a pragmatic philosophy of building customer relationships that last a lifetime, the Jones family supports various nonprofit organizations throughout the state that build better communities. As the portfolio of stores continues to grow, the next generation of Joneses are instrumental in every aspect of the “Sissy’s Experience” and this iconic brand. Dawn and William share Sissy’s simple secret: every person who walks through the door feels like family. Dawn Jones will join the cast of Dancing with Our Stars in September for an evening that provides funding for the Arkansas Chapter of the Children’s Tumor Foundation.

Sharri and Bill Jones introduced Dawn to Children’s Tumor Foundation. “They have been involved with the organization and attended Dancing with Our Stars,” Dawn recalls. “I was approached with the opportunity and was honored to be considered for this spot. After learning more about the foundation’s mission, I was excited to have the chance to help with such a wonderful cause.”

Proceeds from Dancing with Our Stars support the vision to end NF. This gala, coupled with a dance competition, features local business and civic leaders who generate support through online preliminary voting and ultimately perform with a professional dance partner at the gala. It’s an evening of friendly competition, but it’s much more than a party. Dawn realizes raising awareness is critical. “I believe most people are unaware of the signs and symptoms associated with neurofibromatosis. Opening up the conversation will continue to drive research for a cure and advanced care for those affected.”

The event has experienced unprecedented success; this year the organization expects to surpass $3 million for NF research. Neurofibromatosis (commonly called “NF”) is a set of distinct genetic disorders that cause tumors to grow along various types of nerves. It can alter the development of non-nervous tissues such as bones and skin. Children’s Tumor Foundation is visionary – leading the quest for more research, knowledge and advanced care for the NF community.

These values – the power of community to transform lives – are steadfast in the storied history of Sissy’s Log Cabin. “Each of the stores is encouraged to make an impact by supporting local philanthropies, schools, first responders and more. I believe it is important to give so that the entire community is blessed for generations to come.
