Eclipse Activities – University of Central Arkansas

The University of Central Arkansas is squarely in the path of the total solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024. On that day, the UCA campus and thousands of students, faculty, staff and visitors from across the country will come together to witness almost four minutes of complete darkness during the eclipse. Bring the family and friends and join UCA for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

UCA has a jam-packed lineup of events starting with two watch parties. In partnership with the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, the main watch party is at Estes Football Stadium. Seating is available in the stands, but visitors are welcome to bring a blanket and sit on the Stripes.

Barkanalia, a watch party for visitors and their dogs, will also be happening on the lawn of the College of Business. This event will have mainstage entertainment and a show ring with dog agility demonstrations and costume competitions, as well as the opportunity to take a picture with LUNA, the eclipse superhero, a 25-foot inflatable sculpture. Other activities include lawn games, pet adoption, exhibitors and more. Free hot dogs, Sun Chips, Moon Pies and water will be available while supplies last.

UCA’s eclipse activities include free eclipse glasses, arts and crafts vendors, food concessionaires, yard games, an antique car show, NASA TV on the big screen, eclipse book readings, the chance to talk to UCA scientists about the eclipse and so much more.  All events are free and open to the public, but be sure to RSVP.
