Inviting Arkansas: What is your signature baking style?
Hannah Lavender: I guess I like simple things. I’m not one to go over the top with my cakes, I don’t like using fondant very much, and usually stick with buttercream to go for a more rustic look.
IA: What is your favorite cupcake flavor?
HL: Either vanilla or strawberry – I think it’s a tie.
IA: Have you ever had a kitchen fiasco?
HL: One time I spilled hot bacon grease all down my arm, that’s probably the biggest fiasco. I am known among my friends to be quite clumsy in the kitchen; I’m good at getting weird cuts and scrapes.
IA: What keeps you living + giving in Central Arkansas?
HL: I like the size of Little Rock. I’ve lived here for seven years now and it’s just a good place with lots of good people.
IA: Why did you choose to be a participant in Cupcakes for Goodness Sake?
HL: I’m always down to bake for a good cause!
IA: What’s the anticipated highlight of the event for you?
HL: Getting creative and seeing everyone else’s yummy creations!
